The Chi Omega/Make-A-Wish® Alliance

Since 1895, Chi Omega Fraternity members have given their time and talent to provide service to others. In the late 1990s, the leadership in Chi Omega researched opportunities for establishing a national philanthropy, and in 2002, they announced the Chi Omega/Make-A-Wish alliance. Since the start of this alliance, Chi Omega has raised more than 12.9 million dollars and has volunteered over half a million hours for Make-A-Wish. Because of this commitment, they recognize Chi Omega as one of their Cause Champion sponsors. Our Fraternity's goal is to have both collegiate and alumnae chapters become increasingly involved in volunteering and fundraising for Make-A-Wish and to assist in the granting of wishes to these courageous kids. Through this, all Chi Omegas can understand the importance of service to others as a founding principle of our Sisterhood. For more information about Make-A-Wish, visit wish.org. A wish granted not only provides hope, strength and joy to a child and their family, but it can provide a wish child with the ability and willingness to comply with difficult medical treatments, and the hope gained by that wish often improves a child's physical health.
